Thanks for (thinking about) volunteering for AltWheels. AltWheels is an all volunteer event, and we've had great fun at the first Four AltWheels putting on the Festivals, Speaker Panels, and other events.

You can register two ways. The easiest way is to fill out the form below, and then hit SUBMIT, which will send your information by way of your email program to the AltWheels Volunteer Coordinator. The second way is to download the AltWheels Registration Form, and send it (email or mail) to Maxine (Max) Gautier (the fearless AltWheels Volunteer Coordinator).

Please tell your friends about AltWheels volunteer opportunities. AltWheels has grown rapidly, and is currently the largest alternative transportation festival in the NorthEast, we get a lot of our publicity from word-of-mouth. This year, we're expecting thousands of people to join us at City Hall Plaza to explore alternative transportation, and we need lots of volunteers. Please help us spread the word!

Three Ways to Volunteer   (One, some or all!)

    1) Be an "AltWheels Anchor"

We need about 15 people who will commit to helping anchor the main event on Boston City Hall Plaza, September 28 and 29. You'll be helping to keep a major section of the festival running smoothly. We will ask you to attend an evening training session the week before the event, and be on hand all day.

Yes, you can count on me to be an AltWheels Anchor.

    2) Help out Before the Festival.

We need help with many activities, including publicity and marketing activities, such as soliciting exhibitors, researching alternative fuels, posting fliers, and contacting the media. Tell us what you're interested in, and we'll find you a role for you.

Yes, I have time between now and September 28 to help out.
If so, how much time do you have? [hours/week]

    3) Do One or More Volunteer Shifts.

During festival set-up, and especially at the "Main event" on City Hall Plaza, we'll need hundreds of volunteers. You can offer a few hours of your time, or sign up for a bunch of shifts (listed below). "Shift Volunteers" perform much-needed tasks like set-up, giving out information, helping sponsors, working with speakers, manning the AltWheels tent, running children's activities etc. Shift details on are...
